The Nintendo Wii is a revolutionary gaming console that is making its debut Fall of 2006, just in time for Christmas. Originally called the Revolution, the Wii is a motion-sensitive, gaming experience. Rather than sitting in front of the TV with your fingers on a controller, the Wii's controller is more like a wand with a motion sensor that will translate your movements into the game. No more pressing a button and pulling a joystick to swing a sword; the Wii has replaced the passive game-playing tactics with a physically involving requirement. The player will actually move the Wii remote in the desired direction to control the game. The one main downfall of the Wii is that it does not transmit in the high-definition quality like the PS3 or Xbox 360. However, it does use a 480p progressive scan and can be in wide-screen mode so the games should look at least as good as a DVD. This article has only scratched the surface of this system, there is much more to the Nintendo Wii. Review more information from different sources to thoroughly decide if the Nintendo Wii is a good fit for you. This system is ultra-affordable priced at right around $250. There are many of ways to upgrade the system and our site carries many of these upgrades. Whether or not you agree with this Nintendo Wii review, you'll need to decide for yourself on whether you think this system is another Nintendo wanna-be. Nintendo Wii Features New TechnologyThe Nintendo Wii features new technology in the way of motion sensitivity, connection, and types of ports. The controller that is used with the Wii uses infra-red detection and accelerometers to detect movement from the player. Not all game movement must be done through motion detection; players may still use button pressing to control themselves in some games. These revolutionary controllers connect to the Wii system by means of Bluetooth. Another of the Nintendo Wii features is that it is set up with channels. The player will be able to flip through different channels like a television, but is connected through their Wii. The Wii also comes with parental controls. Using these controls, young players will be blocked form playing games that parents or guardians see as inappropriate. |
