What types of DDR memory are available?
There are at least 10 types of DDR memory available.
1. DDR266 or PC2100 DDR, provides a 2.1GB/second throughput of data.
2. DDR333 or PC2700 DDR, provides a 2.7GB/second throughput of data.
3. DDR400 or PC3200 DDR, provides a 3.2GB/second throughput of data.
4. DDR2-400 or PC2-3200, provides a 3.2GB/second throughput of data.
5. DDR2-533 or PC2-4200, provides a 4.2GB/second throughput of data.
6. DDR2-667 or PC2-5300, provides a 5.3GB/second throughput of data.
7. DDR2-800 or PC2-6400, provides a 6.4GB/second throughput of data.
8. DDR3-800 or PC3-6400, provides a 6.4GB/second throughput of data.
9. DDR3-1066 or PC3-8500, provides a 8.5GB/second throughput of data.
10. DDR3-1333 or PC3-10600, provides a 10.6GB/second throughput of data.
New types of DDR memory are being developed all the time, although only a few of them will really make it into the mainstream of computer usage.
